The time has come for Lili to wake up and say hello to the world as a butterfly. Her metamorphosis is complete, but something very unexpected happens.
As the small cocoon started making funny cracking noises, it woke the little bear Beary up from his nap. Beary slowly sat up, rubbed his eyes and looked around with a puzzled expression on his face. Finally he lifted his head up and saw two shiny eyes poking out from the hatched cocoon.
It was Lili waking up from her metamorphosis. At this time, all her friends were already gathered around the tree where her cocoon was attached to. Everyone was so excited to see Lili again and congratulate her with becoming a butterfly. Sleepy Lili waved from her cocoon and gave everyone her biggest and warmest smile.
The little butterfly Lili opened her arms and finally flapped her new wings… But what was that? Lili’s wings were covered in the most beautiful colours that anyone has ever seen! Lili’s friends were mesmerised and couldn’t say a word. Butterfly Lili couldn’t wait much longer and rushed to give everyone a big hug and a kiss.
The moment that butterfly Lili’s wings touched anything – it would get filled with colours. In no time, hedgehog Spikey, squirrel Nono and the little bear Beary were covered in all shades of the rainbow. It was Nono who finally exclaimed…
“Lili, you are spreading colours!”
And at last, butterfly Lili flew to give the biggest hug to her best friend chameleon Li. Li was so excited to see his friend again after long weeks of waiting. As Lili’s wings wrapped around Li’s face, no colour appeared… Unlike other forest animals, chameleon Li stayed colourless and confused.
“I don’t know what my colour is…”, whispered Li.
